Why we started StepInsight
We spent years inside large corporates watching the same pattern repeat itself. A team identifies a real operational problem, builds a solution that saves the business hundreds of thousands of dollars, proves it works, then spends the next six months lobbying management just to get permission to do it again. The politics always won over the outcomes.
The moment that broke it for us: we built a system that replaced a territory balancing process that used to take weeks, multiple people, stacks of spreadsheets, and $30–40K in consulting fees every time it ran. We got it down to two manager meetings and near-zero cost. Leadership was impressed enough to want it rolled out globally, until they found out we'd built it ourselves. We were told: 'We don't do perfect here, we do good enough. Building tech in-house isn't allowed.' That was the day we decided to build StepInsight.
If we couldn't drive real outcomes from the inside, we would do it from the outside. StepInsight exists for one reason: to help established businesses find where technology genuinely moves the needle on their operations, and then actually build and deliver it, without the politics, without the bureaucracy, and without the bullshit.
